Tedric A. Harris Scholarship Announced

ABMA's long time lead professor of the education program, Ted Harris, has decided step down but will continue to be involved as an advisor and may teach portions of the course in the future.  To recognize Ted's countless contributions to ABMA and the bearing industry, the association has decided to create a scholarship in his name that was unanimously supported by the ABMA Executive Committee.

This scholarship is in recognition of Ted's contributions to the bearing industry as an employee of SKF, engineering professor at Penn State and founding instructor for ABMA's Education program.   Throughout his career, Ted has had an incalculable affect on the bearing industry. His passion and dedication are unmatched, and he has encouraged many young engineers to embrace the challenges and opportunities of the bearing industry.

This undergraduate scholarship, which will begin in 2010, will be presented each year to a mechanical engineering student who best exemplifies both outstanding academic achievement and Ted Harris' passion for learning.

Criteria and application process for this scholarship will be released in early 2010.
