Chairman - Les Miller, NSK Corporation

The task group oversees ABMA's education program. Led by chairman Les Miller, the task group is in charge of deciding the curriculum for the ABMA sponsored education courses. The committee works with engineering professors at Penn State University, Georgia Institute of Technology and Notre Dame University to develop and conduct the ABMA Engineering Education Courses. The following courses have been conducted since the inception of the Education Program in 1995:

  • Statistical Theory and Methods Application
  • Vibration & Noise
  • Overview for Management
  • Materials
  • Lubrication
  • Friction & Wear
  • Seal Technology

Courses for 2005 Include:

  • Advanced Concepts of Bearing Technology
  • Essential Concepts of Bearing Technology
  • Advanced Concepts in Lubrication & Wear.

The EETG tries to stay on the cutting edge of bearing technology and with the help of Professor Ted Harris at Penn State and Professor Tim Ovaert at Notre Dame, the task group has put together a top-notch program that anyone in the bearing industry does not want to miss.

Some future projects include a joint program with other industry associations, certification programs and new classes. New projects will be updated as they progress.

Any questions on this committee should be directed to David Lind .
